Gemmy Aquamarine Beryl Crystal with Schorl Tourmaline on Microcline (6.7 cm)
A striking mineral combination specimen from the famous Erongo Region of Namibia: gemmy blue aquamarine (beryl) paired with black schorl tourmaline perched on a complete microcline crystal. The contrast is excellent—glassy, water-clear blue against deep black tourmaline on a bright, sparkly feldspar matrix. This piece has that classic Erongo “aesthetic specimen” look: clean geometry, strong color contrast, and a balanced composition that displays beautifully from multiple angles.
Specs:
• Minerals: Aquamarine (Beryl) + Schorl (Black Tourmaline) on Microcline (Feldspar) • Locality: Davib Ost Farm 61, Karibib, Erongo Region, Namibia
• Size range: Miniature (4.5–7 cm) • Overall size: 6.7 × 3.8 × 3.1 cm
• Largest crystal: 1.70 cm (aquamarine)
Geologist's Note: Erongo pegmatites are renowned for producing gemmy beryl and tourmaline in elegant combinations. Microcline provides a stable feldspar host, and the association with schorl is a classic indicator of boron-rich pegmatitic fluids—making this a great reference specimen as well as a display piece.
