Sea-Blue Green Elbaite Tourmaline with Cleavelandite from Chamachhu, Pakistan
A beautiful elbaite tourmaline crystal with cleavelandite from Chamachhu, Haramosh Mountains, Skardu District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan.
This thumbnail specimen features a single prismatic elbaite crystal with a striking sea-blue to green color zone near the termination, grading into darker tones through the body of the crystal. The termination has an unusual, almost water-like surface made up of many tiny natural faces, giving the piece a very distinctive look.
White cleavelandite is attached along the side of the crystal, adding contrast and texture without taking away from the tourmaline’s form. The specimen has one scar along the side, but the main display face remains very attractive.
